Amnesia Archive is a collection of seven cassette-shaped artist books, each unfolding through its own accordion-fold structure. Written by hand in both English and Chinese, the series moves through shifting states of memory inspired in part by the myth of the goldfish’s fleeting memory. It reflects on forgetting not simply as loss, but as a quiet and deeply human rhythm of living.
Each volume centers around a different symbolic figure — the animal, the bag, the clock, the lover, the prism, the universe, and the water — using them as emotional frameworks to explore forgetting, attachment, repetition, trauma, longing, transformation, and return. Rather than telling one continuous story, the seven books echo and respond to one another like fragments resurfacing in altered forms.
Blending poetry, visual narrative, and archival aesthetics, Amnesia Archive reflects on how memories fade, distort, and survive through the feelings that continue to remain after details disappear.
